Miltiadis Andrianis

Born in Athens, Mr. Miltiadis Andrianis is the Accelerator Engineer of the Tandem Accelerator Laboratory. He studied physics at the National University of Athens (UoA) and received his Master’s Degree in the field of Electronics and Telecommunications from the Physics & Informatics Departments of UoA. He has a five-year professional experience as a Lecturer and lab instructor in technical education at professional development institutes. Since 2008 he has been working under several contracts as the Accelerator Engineer of the laboratory, responsible for the day to day operation, maintenance and upgrade of the 5.5 M.V. T11/25 HVEC tandem Van de Graaff Electrostatic Accelerator, the ion beam production and optimization with the use of ion sources (Duoplasmatron and Sputter sources), the maintenance of various power supplies, vacuum systems, cooling systems and related equipment. He is also responsible for the user training in the safe and efficient use of the facilities. Furthermore he has participated in disassembling, transferring and reinstalling of a 250kV single-ended accelerator (PAPAP) from CSNSM IN2P3 Orsay Campus (France) to the Tandem Lab and in the disassembling of a 17MeV Cyclotron from University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG), Netherlands.​​ He is currently working on “CALIBRA” project (http://www.inp.demokritos.gr/calibra/).
