Giuseppe Bevilacqua

Researcher

Dr Giuseppe Bevilacqua obtained his PhD from the University of Torino. He worked as postdoctoral associate and research fellow at the NCSR “Demokritos”, the RWTH Aachen University, the INFN Laboratories at Frascati and the University of Debrecen. He became staff at NCSR Demokritos in 2025 (Researcher grade C).

His research activity is set in the context of High Energy Theory, with a solid background in computational physics and precision phenomenology at particle colliders. A distinctive feature of his work is the balance between developing computational tools, automation and practical applications to LHC phenomenology, with a special and continuous interest for Top Quark physics. He has been for many years developing and improving the HELAC-NLO Monte Carlo generator. He also worked to the construction and implementation of subtraction schemes for the computation of real-radiation corrections.

He is co-author of several analyses of LHC processes based on state-of-the-art NLO calculations in the Standard Model. He has collaborated with experimental groups (ATLAS, CMS) by delivering dedicated theory predictions and assessing the dominant uncertainties.

More recently he expanded his research interests towards BSM phenomenology, with special focus on Effective Field Theories (SMEFT) and their impact on the phenomenology of Top Quark production at the LHC. In parallel to that, he is collaborating with Dr Papadopoulos (INPP) to the goal of extending the HELAC framework to two-loop amplitude calculations while developing a method for two-loop amplitude reduction at integrand level.
