Dimitra Papadopoulou

Graduate student of the Physics department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Postgraduate studies at Interdepartmental Program of Post Graduate Studies of Faculty of Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki “Protection, Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Monuments”. The diploma thesis was done in collaboration with NCSR Demokritos in 2017. The title of the diploma thesis is “Evaluation of Monte Carlo simulation technique in XRF quantitative analysis of metal alloy standards”, supervised by Andreas G. Karydas. Her main activities focused on evaluating different operational parameters and instrumentation characteristics of the XRF spectrometer and evaluation of Monte Carlo technique, using metal alloy standards. She also examined various corrosion cases of metallic alloys by Monte Carlo simulations.  Afterward, during the Erasmus+ practice in the University of Girona in Spain (2019) she involved in pigment analysis and studies of different quantification approaches. Within the Erasmus period she analyzed Catalonian coins of the Spanish Succession War (1700 – 1714), of the coinage collection of the Numismatic Department of the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC).
