WELCOME COCKTAIL 27 April 2009

The Welcome Cocktail will take place at the conference venue (National Hellenic Research Foundation) after the completion of all the first day conference sessions. During the welcome cocktail the participants will enjoy the flavours of some fine wine accompanied with delicious finger food, meeting and greeting old friends and colleagues.

ATHENS GUIDED TOUR 28 April 2009

A professional guided tour in the Acropoilis area will be offered to the conference participants after the completion of all the second day conference sessions. The participants will have the option to select among a visit either to the “Holly rock” Acropolis that includes Propylea, Temple of Athena Nike, Erechteion and Parthenon built 2.500 years ago, or to the new museum of Acropolis (official grand opening is pending). After the guided tour, you will have the chance to explore the region of Plaka, the old part of Athens with its old traditional houses and little stores.

GALA DINNER 29 April 2009

Gazi, the district that was once home to the Athens gasworks factory and its workers, is now the city's buzzing spot. Gazarte is one of its best bar-restaurants, with a rooftop terrace that offers a glittery nighttime view of the neighborhood, a folksy clientele and live performances of world music. It will host the Conference’s Gala dinner, where you will be able to taste awesome dishes specially prepared for you, watching Acropolis by night.
