TRAVEL

The arrows indicate the location of the Orthodox Academy, the International Airports of Chania and Heraklion.

The Chania Airport is much closer to the Orthodox Academy than the Heraklion Airport:
~39 km (24 miles) versus ~180 km (112 miles).

Unless you take a direct flight to Crete, you will have to connect via Athens. Daily flights from Athens to Chania and flights from Athens to Heraklion are available from Olympic Airways and Air Greece.

By far the most convenient way to go to the Orthodox Academy from the Chania Airport is by taking a taxi. The black line on the map of the relevant area shows the details of the ride;its cost should be approximately 30 euro.

In case the Heraklion airport has to be used, the cost of the coresponding taxi ride is about 70 euro. A more economical way is to take a taxi from the airport to the Heraklion - Chania Bus Terminal (~3 euro) , then take a 3 hour bus ride to Chania (every hour, at a price of 10 euro) , and finally take a taxi from the Chania Bus Terminal to the Orthodox Academy (~11 euro). The cost of such a trip should be approximately 24 euro.
