The National Center for Scientific Research "Demokritos" is situated on the foot on Mount Hymittus at the outskirts of Aghia Paraskevi, a suburb of Athens, and is about 12km to the north from downtown Athens. It covers an area of 600 acres in a nice forest of pine trees.

How to come

From Athens Center
Demokritos is served by bus B5, which goes from the railway station to Aghia Paraskevi. It is very close to the church of Prophet Elias, at the intersection of streets Neapoleos and Patriarchou Gregoriou.

From Athens International Airport
There are express buses E94 and E95 coming from the airport and passing through the square Aghia Paraskevi, which is close to Demokritos. There one can change the bus for B5.
The other way to come from the airport is by a taxi. Depending on the trafic, the duration of the trip is about 20 - 40 min. The taxi fare is around 15 €.
